The purpose of the Commission is to consult with the Secretary of the Interior, or the Secretary’s designee, with respect to matters relating to the development of the Cape Cod National Seashore, including matters of acquisition by condemnation and zoning regulations.
Last fall, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland appointed 16 individuals from nominations made by the six outer Cape towns that encompass the national seashore, as well as members representing Barnstable County and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A chairperson and alternate for the Commission were also nominated and designated.
As published in the federal register on June 11, 2024, the agenda for the meeting will include the adoption of agenda, approval of meeting minutes, superintendent’s report, member’s comments, meeting primary topic (see below) and public comment period.
The focus of this meeting is: Climate/Coastal Resiliency.
